Lab Belonging to Anton Sevarius

Dr Sevarius was looking at the Statis tubes. The Computers were saying that a couple of them were done. "They are Magnificent."

One of the female gargoyles slowly opens her eyes and looks out at the room. She moved to the wall of her chamber and touched the wall. She tilts her head a little, looking at the man on the other side. she glanced over to the other tubes, curious of her surroundings.

Dr Sevarius came over to the female that awoke first. He got a needle and pricked her finger. Blood came. He took the sample. He took it over to the microscope. He looked at it. "No, No." He yelled. He came over and backhanded the female that had just awoke.

He struck her, leather snapped. The Gargoyle next to ner caught his wrist.

The Male Gargoyle spoke, "You will not touch her again." He snapped the rest of the restraints. He threw Sevarius and his broken wrist to the floor. "Leave this place, or you will die." Sevarius got up and run. The Tiger Gargoyle touched the females face, Are you okay?" He tore the restraining straps away from her.

when he pricked her, she yelped and whimpered. she watched him curiously. was he her father? he started yelling.... had she done something wrong? when she was hit she cried out again. she started to be scared. she watched her - would he be her brother? - grab his wrist and she heard the snap of his bones. when she was released she stood there for a moment, then cringed when he touched her face. she was worried that he, too, was going to strike her. why not? it was the first thing she had felt. but as his hand gently met with her cheek, which was still stinging, she relaxed and nuzzled into it a little.

"I'm ok, but.... did i do something wrong?" she looked at the tiger, tears in her eyes. "i  didnt mean to if i did. why was he angry?"

The other Gargoyle moved over to the microscopes, he looked in one, "No I do not think you did anything wrong. He made us, but he is not like us." He saw her crying. He felt like he should protect her. He moved to hug her, to comfort her. "Come here. The left one is my blood. The right one is my blood." Parts of his blood was moving faster and seemed to have a static charge. He sat down at the computer. He started pulling up pictures and files. He got up and moved towards the door. He reached up and touched a pipe. He reached up and found another one. He grinned and broke it down. "This pipe is not in use." He secured the door with it. He moved over to the other tanks. He went back to the computer. He was clicking on pictures.

she hugged him back and sighed a little in relief. "ok. i hoped i didn't do anything.... i couldnt think of anything that i had ever done!" and then smiled, drying her eyes. "do you think he will return? if he made us, then he had to have a reason." she asked looking into the microscopes. "and what about the others?"

she glanced over at the computer screen and all the pictures. wandering over and looking over her brother's shoulder, she watched him flip through the pictures, curious as to what was on there. "what did you find, brother?" it was the only thing she could think of to call him.

Shadowstrike looked at her, "Our Blood is different. Mine seems to have an electric charge to it." He moved to the computer. "I do not know how, but I can understand what is written. We are genetically engineered from Gargoyle DNA. Some of us are True Gargoyles. Others of us are Hybrids between Gargoyles and something called a Mutate. You and I are different, you are a True Gargoyle. I am a Hybrid. I think, that the Man was trying to make Hybrids. Not all of us became Hybrids. I think that is why he was angry." He pointed to the door that he had barred shut, "Since he hit you, he will not get back in here." More of our Brothers and Sisters were waking up.

Something about Shadowstrike, he was a natural born leader. He took command. There was a map on the wall. It was a map of New York State and another one of Tunnel System. He pointed at the Map, "Albany. That is a Pretty Word. You are Pretty. I am going to call you Albany." He was reading everything he could on Gargoyles and Mutates. Amusingly, when he had broken the straps on his confinement and grabbed Sevarius, it was the fastest strike she had ever seen, and more silent than a Shadow.

OOC: He does not have a name yet.

He looked back at her, "Somewhere down in the Sewers is a Clan of Mutates. Then at this Castle," He points to a picture, "Is a Clan of Scottish Gargoyles." Some of them looked physically similar to Albany.

"Albany. it is pretty. I wonder if it means anything. I suppose I can name you then as well." she thought back on what she knew, still a shy smiles from being called pretty. it was nice. after a moment's consideration and while looking over his shoulder she whispered, "shadowstrike. That's what I shall call you. I hadnt heard you move and you can be very fast." she smiled again. she looked over the gargoyles on the pictures. "how are we going to find them? we cant stay locked up here, but he's out there somewhere. If theres even food here, we will run out... perhaps these mutates will help us?...." she sounded nervous, looking to see if where they were amd where these mutates resided was marked on the underground map. she moved to some of her siblings, helping the out of their bindings. "as for the gargoyles, if worst comes, perhaps they will take us in if the mutates do not? but i would like to know where i come from...."

He looked at them, "As soon as we orient ourselves and create a rank structure, we can arrange patrols." He continued reading. "Interesting, True Gargoyles turn to stone during the day. The Man was working on giving True Gargoyles the ability to electrocute people, and giving Mutates the Ability to Turn to Stone during the day." Then he grinned, "I like Shadowstrike." He continued reading, "These are from the files of David Xanatos on Gargoyles, they do not traditionally have names."

"i think you should lead. you seem the smartest." she wrung her hands a little. "was the man this David Xanatos? Perhaps he can help us if the others will not. I wonder why they dont have names..... but i suppose that means i really was a failure. but at last i am alive." she smiled. "and what if he comes back during the day while some of us are stone?"

Shadowstrike looked at her, "No, you are not a Failure at all. You are You. Half of these Gargoyles look like you. Only a handful look similar to me. Most look like you, like these Gargoyles."

He took a deep breath and looked at the other gargoyles, "We are Gargoyles. We were not hatched, but were made here. However, we must strive to be Gargoyles. We must be strong. We protect. We must always be loyal to each other. This is how it must be. Does anyone have a problem with that?"

A Gargoyle stepped up. "Who said you should lead?"

Shadowstrike look at him, "I lead because I do not want to. I just want the safety of those around. If you have a problem with that, attack me."

The Gargoyle did. It was a blur, but Shadowstrike did not strike him. After the Blur of Wings, Shadowstrike was restraining the other Gargoyle. He spoke, "Anyone here can attack me. That does not change the fact that the Safety of Our People is paramount." He let the gargoyle up.

"we shouldnt be fighting. most of us would have probably been killed for not being right. right now we neeed to focus on survival. if you cant be part of this family, then maybe you should leave." Albany said nervously. she didnt like people fighting. she didnt like being the center of attention either. but fighting should be met with kind words rather than violence. she was much more gentle than that. shadowstrike seemed like a good enough leader, "and, brother, I said he should lead. i did not name him as such, only recommended it."

The Other Gargoyles listened to Shadowstrike's and Albany's Words. Between the two sets of words, they all nodded in agreement.

Albany sighed in relief. "looks like we have a start to structure. what's next on the list? we will need food if we stay here. or we can work on trying to find others to help us. perbaps they would be willing." she glanced back over at the screen with the pictures. "the mutates, the scottish clan...... David Xanatos...... the man who made us..... we need to know what is going on... but we should try to figure out who this man is or if he is the same as this David man."

Shadowstrike smelled the air. He moved to a room. THere was what appeared to be packaged food. They were MREs since Sevarius was on the run. He looked over and one Gargoyle was eating a Rat. "Okay." Then he looked at Albany. "We figure out how to find more food. We secure this place and find this underground Clan."

"well, im sure that, since they would be living away from any others, they must have a way to get food. securing the place.... i'm not sure how to do it, but i'm sure we can figure it out. we should put a small group together so that we can explore. the under ground looks huge. but if we can find ourselves on here, we should be able to get anywhere as long as we dont get lost." she started to pull the map down, looking it over. she doubted to find a "you are here" marker, but it was worth a shot.

Shadowstrike looked at Albany, then spoke up to the other Gargoyles, "Settle in, get to know each other. Get to know yourselves. I am going to do some more reading." He looked at Albany. "According to this, Gargoyles turn to stone during the day, but Mutates do not. At Sunset, we will determine, which of us are Gargoyles and which of us are Mutates." He was looking at something else. "It seems we had knowledge downloaded into our brain. This is how we speak and read English." He looked at the files. "I do not know how to read the technical data, but it looks like the file that was downloaded into me was larger."

"that just means you ared smarter right? perhaps he saw you developing in the direction he wished and advanced what was to be taught to you?" she looked over the screen. "when is sunset? we cant see outside from here."

Shadowstrike looked at her, "Smarter no, I do not think so, educated differently and possibly, more." He looked at the time on the computer, "If this time is correct, in a couple of hours."

"then let us help our family. If we wish to survive, she will have to rely on and trust each other." she smiled as she walked away towards the food and started handing it out to the others, sitting among them and talking, learning their names and helping other with theirs.

Shadowstrike looked at her, "You are correct. However, we still need to learn as much as possible." He took a deepbreath, "You are correct, Albany, let us do this."

she smiled and talked with the rest of the family. she was a little shy with the others at first, but recognized herself as sort of a big sister of them. she was helping them with what she could, checking on the computer for answers she did not have the answers. she planned to do this until.... what did he say? sunrise?

Shadowstrike looked at the Gargoyles, "There is a good chance we will turn to stone at Sunset and break free at Sunset. Any of us who do not, will watch the others."

Aulbany finished cleaning up the food and wrappers, putting them all in the trash bin. she looked to the door then back to shadowstrike. "you're sure that he cant get back in?" she asked nervously.

Shadownstrike reached up and started touching pipes again. He found another one that was not in use. He tore it down and put it up against the door. He looked at her, "Not without brining this door down." He checked the walls for different points of access.
